History Of The Professional Scuba Association International
The Professional Scuba Association Internationl is one of the oldest technical scuba instructional traning agencies in the world. For many years it was a small, specialised orginsiation that was predominantly involved with diving training associated with extended range, deep air diving. Virtually all of the early history centers on the founder, Hal Watts.
One of the hallmarks of the Professional Scuba Association International in that the programs have always stressed high quality in instructors. Cross-over certification requires evaluation as well as a written examination on the history and philosophy of PASI.
PSAI is the only technical training agency that requires all certification to be "performance based". meaning that any qualification or certification listed on the candidate's PSAI card means they have been to the listed depth or performed all the required skills during the course.
